Game and Fish Department Landowner Sportsmen's Board, Albuquerque Public Safety Advisory Board, Albuquerque Shooting Range State Park (4600 acre public range) Design Committee Chairman. N.M. Shooting Sports Association: past President, membership secretary; 15 years as legislative officer-all part of successful, aggressive, pro-gun agenda protecting firearms civil rights, including concealed carry in 2001. Long-term leadership on NRA Board, NRA Whittington Center. Born 1941, received B.S. (University of Rochester), Ph.D. (University of Wisconsin) in physical chemistry. Retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 31 years; his professional career included nuclear weapons research and development involving explosives and pyrotechnics; safety, security, safeguards studies of commercial nuclear power facilities; national security studies concerning Soviet strategic forces, nuclear testing, proliferation and arms control; safety, security and risk assessment studies of nuclear materials and nuclear weapons. Dr. Bennett was re-elected to the NRA Board of Directors in 2002 for a 3 year term. |
