Current NRA Board member, Benefactor member. Dr. Arvas is an uncompromising defender of the Second Amendment, and was nominated for reelection to the NRA Board of Directors by the NRA Nominating Committee. Among his many hobbies are hunting, competitive trapshooting, reloading and gun collecting. Taught to hunt at an early age by his father, Dr. Arvas is an avid hunter and currently serves as Chairman of the NRA Hunting & Wildlife Conservation and Shotgun Committees, and serves on the NRA Executive Committee, NRA Sport Shooting and Collegiate Programs Committees, as well as the Board of Trustees of the NRA Whittington Center. He presently serves as Vice President, Southwestern Zone of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and past Vice Chairman of the New Mexico State Game Commission. He is an active member of Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Ducks Unlimited, New Mexico Wildlife Federation and New Mexico Shooting Sports Association. Dr. Arvas was re-elected to the NRA Board of Directors in 2002 for a 3 year term. |
