Karl Malone

Karl
Malone
Salt Lake City, Utah

Nominated by the NRA Nominating Committee. An NRA Life member, Malone uses his name recognition and love of hunting to work for firearms freedom. A forward for the Utah Jazz basketball team, Malone is the second-leading NBA scorer of all time. He was a member of the gold-medal winning U.S. Olympic basketball teams in 1992 and 1996, and was named NBA's Most Valuable Player twice. Taught to shoot by his mother, Malone considers hunting and fishing as favorite pursuits, and he shares that heritage with his children, as well as with disadvantaged and at-risk youth through the Karl Malone Foundation for Kids, and Utah Special Olympics. Putting his celebrity status to work for firearms freedom, Malone campaigns across the country on behalf of pro-Second Amendment political candidates, and appeared in "I'm the NRA" advertisements in national magazines. He has competed in numerous sporting clays competitions for charities.

Karl Malone was elected to the NRA Board of Directors in 2001 for a 3 year term.
