NRA Leaders spoke to an enthusiastic crowd, praising the membership for their dedication and hard work in the last election. President Heston acknowledged the members had more than answered their call to duty, outlined by him in 1998, 1999 and 2000. President Heston then received a standing ovation when he announced he had agreed to serve an unprecedented fourth term as NRA President.

An appreciative membership enjoyed a smooth meeting, listening to speeches by NRA leaders, the presentation of the election report, culminating in NRA Secretary Ed Land reading member resolutions to be voted on. One resolution, submitted by California NRA volunteers, specifically thanked four NRA leaders for their personal support in their beleaguered state.

One thing was clear - members in attendance took advantage of the 2001 Annual Members' Meeting to express their own appreciation for the excellent leadership provided by the officers and directors of their association.
