Despite traveling most of the night and arriving very early in the morning, NRA President Charlton Heston was in rare form as he addressed comments made by actress Susan Sarandon at the "Million Mom March".
In a stirring speech, NRA-ILA Executive Director James Baker promised that "before this Congress moves to establish checks for private sales at gun shows, the Department of Justice will be called before Congress to explain why they are unable or unwilling to run the instant check system as Congress intended..."
Country Star Louise Mandrell was elected to the NRA Board of Directors! Ms. Mandrell walked the Convention Center floor meeting members while autographing "Vote for Louise" flyers.
Congressman J.C. Watts (R-OK) was the Guest Speaker at the Annual Banquet, delivering a thoughtful, powerful dissertation on the decline of morality in American culture.
