TACKY ROSIE

What, me tacky?

Rosie O'Donnell once again finds herself landing in the news and in the NRA-ILA FAX Alert, and once again she finds herself the recipient of negative publicity. Last week, we reported that Rosie and Kmart were severing ties, with some speculation that it was because of her support of "gun control," and her rabid anti-gun views are causing the spotlight to again shine on the talk-show host.

The cable television network E! Entertainment Television Networks, which calls itself "the 24-hour network with programming dedicated to the world of entertainment,...style, fashion and design," recently released its 1999 Tacky Taste Award. Recipients of the award are determined by people who visit E! Online, the website of the network, and the annual title goes to the celebrity voters feel is "the tackiest show-biz personality."

This year Rosie takes the prize, beating the likes of Monica Lewinsky and former NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman. E! Online reported, "We were bombarded with votes for Rosie as the Tackiest Celeb of the Year, pretty much exclusively for her on-air ambush of...Tom Selleck."

NRAWinningTeam.com addendum:
From the E!-Online article, written by Marilyn Beck

"...We were bombarded with votes for Rosie as the Tackiest Celeb of the Year, pretty much exclusively for her on-air ambush of... Tom Selleck. "It was mean-spirited to invite a guest just to attack him. Mr. Selleck made her look like a fool!" wrote MEKt from Belle Chasse, Louisiana. "Rosie needs to get off her high horse," said Michele J. of Oxnard, California, "It's a talk show, not a soapbox." We should mention that Rosie had her defenders, too--which just goes to show that tackiness is, er, a matter of taste..."

NRAWinningTeam.com wonders... Since she won the 'Tackiest' award, doesn't that mean Rosie had the fewest defenders of all?
