The following is a report from Ed Worley, your NRA
State Liaison. We left the capitol at 3:02 am,
immediately after the legislature adjourned. I
believe that Ed was the last lobbyist in the capitol,
this morning.
Thanks again, for all that you have done for freedom.
We will never quit, we will never give up.

NRA ALERT 9/1/2000
Legislature Ends Session for 1999-2000
In a major upset, AB273 (Scott) was defeated in the
State Assembly. When it was apparent that there were
not the votes to pass the bill, Assemblyman Scott
allowed the bill to be sent to the Public Safety
Committee where it was not acted upon before the
Constitutional deadline....
This victory is the result of all the efforts of the
NRA members acting and communicating to their
legislators. Assemblyman Scott admitted at one point
that his offices had received OVER 15,000 phone calls.
In every legislators office, the phones melted and so
did the support for AB273. I can tell you that your
actions have sent a major tremor through the capitol.
To those activists who told me that we would not
prevail, I say have more faith .... to those who worked
their hearts out, I can only say thank you.. and the
victory is yours to savor.....
