Rep. Don Young (R-AS)

On April 4, U.S. Representative (and NRA Board Member) Don Young's (R-Alaska) H.R. 3671, the Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Programs Improvement Act of 2000, passed out of the U.S. House on a 423 to 2 vote.

This bill, supported by NRA, will protect the interests of sportsmen by ending the abuse and mismanagement of money used to administer the Pittman-Robertson (P-R) Trust Fund (see FAX Alert Vol. 7, No. 7).

The only votes against the bill came from Reps. Jesse Jackson, Jr., (D-Ill.) and Maxine Waters (D-Calif), who also voted against H.R. 4051.
